Taxes.
Quebec customers must pay 7% GST and 7. 5% QST to the total of their order including shipping.
All other Provinces, except NB, NS and Nfld., customer must pay 7%GST to the total of their order including shipping.
Customers in MB, NS, and Nfld. must pay 15% HST to the total of their order including shipping.

Shipped in two cartons. One 100 in. x 16 in x 6 in. One 12 in x 12 in. x 12 in. Total weight 65 to 85 lbs. depending on model shipped.
To the prices shown for the Kayak kits, the shipping charges shown below must be added.

Rudders

We use the K1 black anodized aluminum rudder assemblies from Feathercraft with a cotter pin mount. They are very well made.

Includes the rudder, a hardwood mounting bracket, cables,fasteners and plastic shrink tube for the cable ends. An illustrated set of instructions shows how to install all of it. (The tubing for the cables is already included in our Kayak kit.)

We do not recommend a K-2 rudder for our Thunderbird Tandem kayak. It is too large and creates too much drag.
The K-1 rudder works very well on the Thunderbird.

Spray skirts

These are beautifully made and of excellent quality. They are made to fit the coaming on our kayaks (the manufacturer has the patterns)so you can be assured of a good fit.
Order a Medium for Sea Wolf and Thunderbird and Large for Sea Lion.

Standard spray skirt.
Black nylon with a large zippered mesh pocket. Includes an adjustable nylon waist . This skirt looks great.

Cockpit cover
Heavy duty nylon (it's even coated on the inside). With an industrial grade adjustable shock cord that fits into the groove around the coaming.

Paddles

When we decided to offer our customers a wooden paddle we looked long and hard for just the right one. We found it and it's almost in our own back yard. Grey Owl paddles have gained world wide acclaim for their beautiful wooden paddles. The quality is superb and they are light weight.

Paddle size

If you are under 5 ft. 2 in, order a size 230. If you are between 5 ft. 2 in. and 5 ft. 8 in., order either a 230 or a 240, depending on whether you like a longer or shorter paddle. If you are over 5 ft. 8 in. order a 240.

95% of our customers go for this paddle. The blade is built from ash, butternut, walnut and bass. The shaft is ash and white cedar with a carbon fiber ferrule. It only weighs 32 ounces and it is beautifully made. It will certainly complement your wooden kayak.
